Esri OneGeology Grant

Environmental Systems Research Institute Inc. (Esri) is a leader in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and is an international supplier of GIS software, web GIS and geodatabase management applications. Esri supports the OneGeology initiative by offering a grant that will provide technology and support to improve web mapping service capabilities of OneGeology members and the global GIS community. The grant offer is non-exclusive and is open to all members of OneGeology. Eligible members and Esri must comply with US export regulations in order for members to be considered to receive the OneGeology Grant (ESRI Export Compliance policy). Grant recipients (grantees) will publish their data and make their data available through the OneGeology infrastructure.

Grants are administered via Esri and Esri’s network of authorized Distributors. The performance and effectiveness of the grant and any issues which may arise will be monitored by Esri, the OneGeology Managing Director and the Board of OneGeology.

The Grant Offer


Esri will donate the following ArcGIS products to accepted Grantees:

One License of ArcGIS for Desktop Advanced One (1) Named User and 100 Service Credits for ArcGIS Online
ArcGIS Online Level 1 Subscription with up to five (5) Named Users and 2500 Service Credits
One License of ArcGIS for Server Advanced Enterprise Level 2 Portal for ArcGIS Named User License
One License of Esri Geoportal Server  
One License of ArcGIS for INSPIRE  
Virtual Campus One (1) student - eligible for Learning ArcGIS Desktop and Editing ArcGIS Desktop classes

Esri International Users Conference

Grantee receives one (1) non-transferable pass to the Esri International User Conference in San Diego, California. Grantee is responsible for travel costs, permits, meals, and accommodations. After the first year, Grantee may purchase a non-transferable pass to the Esri International User Conference, or if additional software maintenance is purchased, the conference pass may be included in the maintenance fee.


For the first year (12 months) of the grant, Esri provides free maintenance. Maintenance includes technical support and updates, upgrades and new versions of any of the software listed above to and for the Grantee. After the first year, if Grantee chooses to continue to receive technical support, maintenance to and for the Grantee may be purchased at a 50% discount from Esri, if Grantee is located within the United States, or, if Grantee is located outside of the United States, through Grantee’s local distributor.

Requirements of the Grantee

Each OneGeology member is eligible for one (1) grant are made to institutions, not individuals.


To be eligible for the Esri OneGeology Grant an organization must:

  • Be a member, in good standing, of OneGeology
  • Comply with US export regulations


  • Grantees agree to publish their data and make their data available through the OneGeology infrastructure
  • Grantee is responsible for payment of any applicable taxes
  • Grantee is responsible for any applicable shipping charges
  • Grantees are required to sign an Esri License Agreement prior to receiving donated product licenses

Esri is currently accepting applications to the Esri Grant offer in support of OneGeology.

Q: What are the components of the OneGeology Grant?

A: The Esri OneGeology grant is a donation of the software product licenses as listed above, including one (1) nontransferable Esri International Users Conference Pass for the first year of the grant, and maintenance for donated products for the first year of the grant

Q: What if my organization already has a software Enterprise License Agreement (ELA) with Esri?

A: Organizations with a current Enterprise License Agreement (ELA) with Esri do not need to apply, and should not apply to the Esri One Geology Grant. Members of OneGeology with current ELA that would like to include products that are donated with the OneGeology Grant may contact their distributor for guidance.

Q: How long will Esri accept applications for the OneGeology Grant?

A: Esri will accept applications until December 31, 2020. After that date, please contact your local Esri Distributor for information.
